Completed Project

USE * RINSE * REPEAT – It’s That Easy!

BID 3 Theme 1 "Town Appearance"

As part of the “1 Town Appearance” initiative, St Ives BID is proud to launch a community-wide reusable coffee cup scheme, helping to reduce single-use waste and keep our town looking its best. This exciting project, led by St Ives BID, is another step in our mission to promote sustainability while enhancing the appearance of our beautiful town.

Following the success of our pilot scheme, which began on 1st March 2024, Circular&Co sustainable coffee cups are now being distributed to drinks outlets across St Ives. The scheme kicks off with 12oz branded cups, designed to be used across multiple participating outlets.

Creating Cups That Are Made to Last – and Be Loved!

Our Circular&Co. Cup, built to last over ten years, is a sustainable alternative to disposable takeaway vessels. Featuring stylish St Ives branding, these cups are designed to be practical and attractive, encouraging residents and visitors alike to carry and reuse them with pride.

Why This Matters for St Ives

As one of the UK’s most popular destinations, St Ives serves a staggering volume of takeaway drinks. While many cups are technically recyclable, most end up as single-use waste or litter, particularly during peak summer months. Single-use coffee cups surged during the COVID-19 crisis, and today, they account for a significant portion of our town’s waste.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

St Ives’ enthusiastic business community, led by BID, has united to take action. By introducing this reusable cup scheme, we aim to drastically reduce the number of disposable cups being used and discarded. This is just the beginning—our vision includes expanding the scheme to include other reusable items, like takeaway food boxes, to further cut down on waste.

Join the Movement

Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, joining the reusable revolution is simple: USE * RINSE * REPEAT. By switching to a reusable cup, you’re helping to keep St Ives clean, green, and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

This project is part of St Ives BID’s ongoing efforts to combine sustainability with keeping our town vibrant and welcoming. Let’s work together to make St Ives a leader in sustainability—one cup at a time!
