St Ives BID has introduced the PAC reporting system to strengthen communication between local businesses, the police and the town’s Street Marshals.
The new system replaces DISC and provides businesses with a straightforward way to report incidents, share intelligence and receive relevant community safety updates. Reports submitted through PAC can be viewed by the appropriate partners in real time, helping the police and Street Marshals respond to issues and identify recurring patterns of behaviour.
The system will support the reporting of incidents including shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and other concerns affecting businesses and the wider town centre. By encouraging businesses to share timely and accurate information, PAC will help build a clearer picture of local issues and strengthen partnership working across St Ives.
For businesses, the reporting process will feel very similar to the previous system. The main improvements take place behind the scenes, allowing information to be shared more effectively with the organisations responsible for supporting town-centre safety.
PAC forms an important part of St Ives BID’s Safer St Ives programme, alongside the Street Marshals and other initiatives delivered in partnership with Devon & Cornwall Police, St Ives Town Council and local organisations.
BID levy-paying businesses will be provided with information about accessing and using the system. We encourage businesses to report incidents whenever they occur, as every report contributes to a better understanding of the issues facing the town.
The PAC reporting system is jointly funded between St Ives BID and St Ives Town Council.
