The festive season is upon us, and St Ives in December is set to be a highlight of the town’s calendar! This beloved annual event, traditionally organized by a dedicated volunteer group, has faced challenges this year due to limited numbers. To ensure the magic continues, St Ives BID has stepped in to organize and deliver this much-loved celebration as part of our BID 3 Marketing & Events theme.
What’s Happening?
Mark your calendars for Saturday, 2nd December, when St Ives will officially kick off the festive season with an enchanting day of activities for the whole family:
Santa Arrives by Lifeboat: Gather at the harbour from 6pm to welcome Santa as he makes his grand entrance aboard the lifeboat. St Ives School Choir will serenade the crowd with festive songs as we await his arrival.
Santa’s Sleigh Parade: Once ashore, Santa will be pulled by sleigh through the town, delighting children and adults alike, before making his way to Royal Square.
Town Light Switch-On: Join us in Royal Square as Santa switches on the town’s dazzling Christmas lights, marking the start of the holiday season.
Live Music and Entertainment: Enjoy performances by the St Ives Concert Band and a variety of street entertainers who will bring the festive cheer to life.
