St Ives BID is delighted to announce that the St Ives Gold Card has been named a finalist in two categories at the prestigious National BID Awards 2027 – People Engagement Scheme and Community Project.
The National BID Awards recognise excellence, innovation and best practice among Business Improvement Districts across the UK, celebrating initiatives that support local businesses, strengthen communities and make a positive difference to towns and cities.
Being shortlisted in two categories is fantastic recognition for the St Ives Gold Card, a scheme that continues to bring local businesses and residents together.
Supporting Local Businesses, Giving Back to Our Community
The St Ives Gold Card was created to encourage Cornwall residents to shop, eat and spend locally, while helping to raise funds for community projects.
For just £5 a year, cardholders can enjoy discounts of at least 10% at participating businesses, with proceeds from card sales reinvested into local good causes.
The scheme has continued to grow, with over 900 cards sold in 2026 and thousands of pounds raised to support local organisations and community initiatives.
From independent shops and cafés to restaurants, hotels and attractions, participating businesses are at the heart of the scheme, helping to make a real difference to St Ives.
This national recognition is as much an achievement for our participating businesses and cardholders as it is for St Ives BID.

With the new St Ives Gold Card launching in November, we’re excited to build on the success of the scheme, welcoming more participating businesses, encouraging more residents to shop locally and continuing to support worthwhile community causes.

The winners will be announced at the National BID Awards ceremony in London on Monday 8th February 2027.
Whatever the outcome, reaching the finals in two national categories is something for the whole St Ives community to celebrate.
