New vibrant colour has been brought to St Ives for the summer months, thanks to partnership working between BID and the Town Council.

BID and The Town Council have joined forces to work with CORMAC’s environment team this summer to provide the wonderful planting seen across town. For 2023 BID has funded 2/3 of the total cost (£12,000) and the Town Council has provided 1/3 (£6,000) for the planting, new planters, maintenance and watering for the summer season

Successful partnership working is critical as the town recovers from the pandemic and is feeling the effects of the current economic climate.

Businesses, residents and visitors love seeing the summer plants in St Ives and we have received so many positive comments this year. Floral displays to brighten up St Ives for businesses, shoppers and visitors have been seen all around town in our beautiful new planters and in Amberol lamppost units. It’s all thanks to investment from the BID, as we work towards one of our main objectives –  creating a greener and cleaner town centre. Cormacs core team of 3, led by Chris Bassett have between them got over 90 years service working in the town. The planters and plants are all made and grown in Cornwall.
