Christmas Shop Window Competition
Each year St Ives in December run a Window Competition. Even COVID can't stop it!
The theme of this year’s St Ives in December Christmas Windows Competition is 12 Days of Christmas. There are many versions of the story available online, but it’s our creative shop’s idea on the theme that matters.
The Categories are:
- Judges award for Overall Winning Window
- Best Interpretation of the Theme
- Most Humorous Window
- Best Small Window
- The Peoples Award
The competition opens 3rd December for late Night Shopping.
This year our guest judge will be renowned poet and artist Bob Devereux. There is one overall Judge’s Award and 3 other categories as we always get such a great response, we want to recognise our shop’s hard work and effort.
The judges will make their decisions on Saturday 12th of December, but the Peoples Award will stay open until January 2nd.
To vote, there are paper entry forms available in the shops, or from St Ives Library, which can then be posted in boxes at either of the towns Post Offices.
Or you can vote by commenting on St Ives In December Facebook page, and also Twitter and Instagram with #SIDwindow2020 (it can only be counted if you have a public account).
It is not essential to stick to the theme, but one of the categories is for Best Interpretation of the Theme. So come on St Ives Shops, let’s get thinking!!
The winners are announced on social media and the St Ives in December web page.
