Pedestrian Signage Project
Helping visitors explore St Ives.
St Ives is at a very important time in its development. From ancient fishing village to artistic haven, to the number one UK holiday beach resort, St Ives is a place that has always embraced change. St Ives embodies constant creation and reinvention because it knows itself.
No longer just a summer holiday town, out of season, we offer a more personal, richer experience and the town’s emerging new independent businesses reflect this. We are becoming a year round, 365 day place to flourish.
We want to replace the current signs with elegant new ones. Ones that will welcome, inform, navigate and help visitors to explore by pointing them in the right direction for public conveniences, shops and beaches to ensure they make the most of their visit to our town.
Have a look at the proposed locations and content here.
After the public consultation and the great feedback we received, planning permission has been submitted to Cornwall Council. The content for the signs has been added and we need your help to make sure everything is spelled correctly, and walking times are accurate (we have been advised to round-up the minutes to cover all ages and abilities).
Please take a look at the latest document and share it with your friends and family. If you spot anything, or for more information on this project please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
